ワークショップには明確な形がなく、何をデザインしたのか分かりづらいとされる。しかし、設計者が意図的に組み上げた様々な要素が多数重なり合うことで、それによってワークショップの参加者が体験する活動は、豊かで意義のあるものになっていると言える。著者らは、企業の社会貢献活動のひとつとして取り組んできたワークショップを通して、小中学生のこどもたちに創造的で協同的な活動を提供してきた。この活動がどのように設計され、実施過程で参加者の創造的(体験から新しいものを生み出すこと)・協同的(同じ目的のために仲間と協力すること)な活動を引き出したのか、「環境(空間・配置)」「道具(素材・ワークシート)」「ファシリテーション」そして「進行計画(時間設計・内容)」の要素で示す。
It is hard to know what is designed in the workshop, since it does not have a clear form. We can say, however, that the activity that the participants of the workshop experiences could be rich and significant in case various elements built in intentionally by the designer overlap effectively. The authors have been providing a creative and cooperative activity to the children of the primary and the secondary school by holding the workshop which they worked on as one of the contribution to the social activity of the company. They have shown it in the items of “environment” (space, placement), “tools” (material, worksheet), “facilitation” and “progress plan” (schedule, contents) how this activity is designed, and how they drew the creative activity (producing new things from an experience) and cooperative activity (cooperating each other with a friend for the same purpose) of the participants.
