本作品は、「月」の超高精細な３次元CG（以後、3DCGと記す）の鑑賞システムである。鑑賞者は月球儀を改造した月型コントローラーを手にとり、見たい場所を自分の方へ向けることで月の3DCGを連動させ、目の前の大型ディスプレイに表示することができる。この実物を手がかりとしたユーザーインターフェイスと、4KリアルタイムCGを組み合わせ、超高精細な月の3DCGを鑑賞する作品「月面旅行」を、2013年11月に「NHK文化祭2013」で展示した。また、2014年６月７日から８月31日にかけて、東京都現代美術館で開催された「ミッション［宇宙×芸術］展」でハイビジョン版の「月面旅行」の展示を行った。
This work is a display system of the moon using super high definition CG. As the person viewing this system holds the lunar globe-shaped controller, the place on the lunar globe facing the viewer is synchronized with the moon CG which is shown on a large display in front of the system. This user interface which makes reference to an actual object, is combined with 4K real-time 3D CG to create the “Flying over the moon”. It was exhibited at the “NHK Cultural Festival 2013” in November, 2013. The High-Definition version of “Tour of the Moon” has also been shown in the “Mission [Space×Art]” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from June 6th to August 31st, 2014.
